Minal Bhundia
I graduated from university with a social sciences degree and after a few years working, in the HR and OD Shared Services division at RBK, I started an apprenticeship in HR Management (L5) Diploma.
When I started the apprenticeship, I had a basic knowledge of HR transactional and processing activities, plus I was in a relatively new role as an Employee Experience Coordinator. So, it was a great chance to expand my learning, enhance my career development to attain a valuable, recognised qualification, and at the same time gain a wider knowledge of HR.
ESP helped work out the best fit of the required 20% off the job time, through planning of meetings, participation in workshops, CIPD webinars, events, and job shadowing colleagues at work.
By studying online and completing the various assignments, I gained the theory, but also was able to combine this with practical implementation at work.
I had great support and encouragement from my team members and line manager, and my personal ESP Learning and Skills coach was very approachable and passionate about the subject and was always around giving valuable guidance and advice.
The apprenticeship changed me personally and professionally. I learnt so much about myself, and the experience increased my confidence, self-belief, and really empowered me to think more outside the box.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and overall, it was a very positive, invaluable, and enjoyable journey. I would advise anyone considering an apprenticeship to find the best course suited to your learning style and just go for it!
