Health & Safety in a Construction Environment

The Health & Safety in a Construction Environment qualification is designed for learners working in or aspiring to work in the construction industry.

Its objective is to prepare learners for employment in construction, giving learners the knowledge required to undertake their jobs safely.

Successful learners who also complete the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment knowledge test can apply for the CSCS Labourer’s card.

Funding Information

We run short courses for adults looking to get back into employment.

These courses are FREE as they are fully funded by the ESFA (Education Skills Funding Agency) to help you develop new skills and knowledge.
A coach will support you every step of the way, during the course and after, to boost your chances of employment on completion.
We also offer lots of ways and ideas of other courses that can help you progress in your career.
We have strong partnerships with employers and Job Centres in Greater Manchester, to help signpost you into work.

This course is aimed at unemployed individuals starting out in the construction industry.

Understand the principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work
Gain knowledge on the importance of safe manual handling in the workplace
Learn the importance of working safely at height in the workplace
Understand the risks to health within a construction environment
The Health and Safety Awareness CITB course includes the exam module within the course price.
The exam is invigilated online and needs to be passed to receive the qualification. However, to obtain a CSCS Green Labourer card you must also complete and pass the Health and Safety touch screen test.
The Health and Safety touch screen test and CSCS registration fees are included in the course price. The price of the Health and Safety touch screen test is £21.00 and can be carried out at approved testing centres throughout the UK.
Once you have completed and passed this course and completed and passed the Health and Safety touch screen test you can then apply for the CSCS Green Labourer card. The price for the card application of £36.00 is included in the course price.

Pearson BTEC Certificate

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive two certificates.

The first is a certificate for completing the training modules and this will be sent through to the learners as soon as they have completed all modules.

Please note that this certificate will not be accepted by the CSCS as part of the application process for the Green Labourer card.

The second certificate will be emailed directly to the learners after they have completed the accredited exam and the results have been invigilated and marked accordingly. This certificate will be accepted by the CSCS as part of the application process for the Green Labourer card.
